Indian River Lagoon Cruise and Cocktails
Our Lagoon Update and Cruise with Environmental Learning Center Director of Education, Heather Stapleton was a wonderful success. Heather spent 45 minutes on the lagoon telling us about what is happening in the lagoon today, where we’re heading, and what we, as individuals can do to help stop the pollution that is killing the seagrass and our lagoon. Everyone agreed that it was informative and FUN. A wonderful way to end our season. Following are a few pictures of our outing:

Yale Alumni Help at ELC EcoFest
Again this year, the Yale Club of the Treasure Coast spent a day at the Environmental Learning Center on Sunday, March 7, 2010. This year the Yale alumni, as part of their annualYale Day of Service, managed the traffic and parking control for EcoFest 2010
The Yale Day of Service is an annual activity which encourages Yale alumni around the world to volunteer in various community service projects. Nearly 4,000 members of the Yale community participated in this year’s event.
The Yale Day of Service, sponsored by the Yale Club of the Treasure Coast, was held May 16, 2009 at the Environmental Learning Center. TheYale alumni performed repair work on the ELC’s dock.
The global Yale Day of Service involved over 3,500 members of the Yale community volunteering in nearly 170 sites in 40 states and 12 countries. Yale alumni, family and friends made a difference in community homeless shelters, parks, schools, soup kitchens and many other organizations.
